BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:

Doug Ashby has broad experience in the operation and management of businesses. He has held senior management positions in several private companies. His specific industry experience ranges from transportation, manufacturing, distribution, foodservice, printing, fabrication, construction and retailing.

As an industrial engineer he designed, developed and implemented innovative operating methods to reduce operating costs. As chief negotiator for a service firm, he developed a sophisticated price negotiating system built on the labor content of services. As Chief Financial Officer of a food manufacturing startup he generated $1 million in cash by rolling all equipment purchases into leases. In addition, he has held positions ranging from auditor of vendor contracts and budget manager with a $125 million operating budget, to regional manager of financial controls and developer of computer based scheduling and financial control systems.

As a marketing manager, he created a very successful program for use in niche merchandising that doubled sales each year for five years. As an entrepreneur, he has developed safety products for the pipeline industry which help prevent hazardous dig-ins and avoid serious pipeline damage that can threaten public safety. As Division General Manager of a screen printing company, he directed both production and marketing of products to industrial clients across the USA, and was instrumental in tripling division sales by expanding both the product line and market area.

Doug couples this broad business experience with the ability to understand and empathize with each party's needs, and to synthesize solutions that serve the interests of both sellers and buyers. He is licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Real Estate Agent, and is registered as an Agent with the Texas State Securities Board. He is also a member of the Texas Association of Business Brokers. Doug holds a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from The University of Michigan.
